Hirá Ramen Izakaya is a contemporary Japanese dining destination that brings the authentic spirit of Tokyo's izakayas to São Paulo. Created in 2015 by Daniel and Valéria Hirata, this establishment celebrates the Japanese tradition of gathering with friends over exceptional food and sake. The restaurant masterfully blends traditional Japanese cuisine with modern sensibilities, offering a unique fusion between izakaya and ramen-ya concepts.
The menu showcases otsumamis (shareable appetizers) alongside expertly crafted ramens, complemented by fresh raw fish preparations, noodle dishes, curry, and grilled specialties. True to Tokyo's evolving food scene, Hirá also features Korean-inspired dishes, reflecting contemporary global influences. Every plate is designed around umami—that memorable, addictive flavor that keeps you coming back.
The beverage program is equally impressive, featuring an extensive sake selection curated to highlight Japan's finest, alongside classic and signature cocktails crafted by renowned mixologists. This is not just food and drink; it's a cultural experience rooted in the izakaya philosophy of friendship, celebration, and togetherness.
The atmosphere is deliberately comfortable, cheerful, and informal—designed to facilitate genuine human connection and socializing. Hirá welcomes groups up to 8 people and operates on a first-come, first-served basis, maintaining the casual, convivial spirit that defines true izakayas. The restaurant accepts various payment methods including meal vouchers (VR, TR, Pluxee, Alelo), making it accessible to working professionals. Located in the heart of São Paulo, Hirá has successfully brought izakaya culture beyond the traditional Liberdade neighborhood, making it a must-visit for anyone seeking authentic Japanese hospitality paired with culinary excellence.
